Fox Meadow

Fox Meadow neighborhood guide: schools, commute, housing character and what buyers should know.

Fox Meadow takes its name from Fox Meadow Elementary School at 59 Brewster Road, one of Scarsdale’s five neighborhood elementary schools. In Scarsdale, the elementary school you attend is determined by where you live, so “Fox Meadow” is shorthand for that school’s attendance area.

Why buyers look here

  • Proximity to the village center and Scarsdale station. Much of the area sits east of the Bronx River Parkway and Scarsdale’s Tudor-style village center, so many homes are within walking or a short drive of the Harlem Line.
  • Established housing stock. Expect a mix of early-20th-century Tudors, Colonials and estate-style homes on mature, tree-lined streets.

Things to verify before you buy

  • Confirm the elementary school for a specific address with the district registrar or attendance map — boundaries follow streets, not marketing names.
  • Ask for the current assessment and the most recent village, town, county and school tax bills (see our property tax guide).

History

Fox Meadow was developed in the 1920s, and Fox Meadow Elementary School was built in 1928, according to the Scarsdale Historical Society.
